ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team has earned the No. 3 seed for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship and will open postseason play Thursday, April 23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. at 7 p.m.
The Spiders will face the winner of No. 6 Rhode Island and No. 11 George Mason, slated for Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m., in the quarterfinal round.
Richmond enters the championship with a 10-10 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play, closing the regular season with a narrow 3-4 setback at No. 59 Old Dominion.
After opening the spring against a challenging non-conference slate that featured two nationally ranked opponents, the Spiders surged late in the season, winning six of their final eight matches prior to the regular-season finale. Richmond secured conference victories over Rhode Island, Davidson and George Mason, including a 4-0 road sweep of the Patriots to cap league play.
Individually, Lucy Webber leads the team with an 11-7 record in dual singles, while Abby Lee has added a 10-9 mark and a perfect 3-0 record in Atlantic 10 matches. Lee and Webber each enter the tournament on a five-match win streak in singles play.
Lainey O'Neil has posted a 9-7 record in dual singles, highlighted by wins in three of her last four completed matches, while Beatriz Guerra has been dominant in conference play with a 3-0 mark, including four straight-set victories.
In doubles, the pairing of Guerra and Lee enters postseason play on a three-match win streak and holds a 3-2 overall record together, including a 2-1 mark in Atlantic 10 competition.
The No. 3 seed marks the second consecutive season the Spiders have earned a top-three seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship after advancing to the title match in 2025 and in 2024 as an eight seed.
