Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond men's lacrosse team closed the regular season with a 19–10 win over High Point and took home two Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors, as Nate Murphy (defensive) and Aidan O'Neil (offensive) were recognized for their performances in the win.
The Spiders saw contributions on both ends of the field in the victory, which clinched the outright Atlantic 10 regular-season title and secured the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship for the second consecutive year. The win also marked Richmond's 12th of the regular season, setting a new program single-season record.
Murphy entered in the first quarter and matched a career high with three caused turnovers while also scoring the first goal of his career off an assist from goalie Connor Knight.
O'Neil finished with five goals and two assists, recording his second five-goal game of the season and his ninth game of the year with at least five points.
Richmond enters postseason play Thursday, hosting No. 4 seed UMass in the Atlantic 10 Betterment Men's Lacrosse Championship semifinals at Robins Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
