RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team placed four student-athletes on the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis All-Conference teams, the league office announced Monday.
Sofia Barbulescu earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season, while Abby Lee collected her first career selection on the First Team and Lucy Webber earned Second Team All-Conference recognition for the first time in her career. Beatriz Guerra was also recognized as an All-Conference Second Team honoree following an impressive rookie campaign.
Barbulescu competed exclusively at No. 1 singles throughout the dual season. The sophomore posted eight dual-match victories while consistently facing each opponent's top player and closed the season winning four of her final five completed matches.
Among her top performances were a three-set victory over Davidson's Savanna Kollock, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), a straight-set win over No. 59 Old Dominion's Victoria Matasova, 6-3, 6-4, and a comeback victory against Liberty's Daniella O'Neill, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Earlier in the spring, Barbulescu added wins over William & Mary's Sia Chaudry, Campbell's Sandra Mari Marti and CSUN's Angela Ho.
In Atlantic 10 play, Barbulescu competed at No. 1 singles in all four conference matches and helped guide Richmond to a 3-1 league record. She also contributed at the top doubles position, earning victories over UC Irvine, Davidson and George Mason.
Lee collected the first all-conference recognition of her career after posting an 11-9 dual singles record while competing primarily in the middle of Richmond's lineup. The sophomore excelled in Atlantic 10 action, finishing unbeaten in conference singles matches with a 3-0 mark.
Lee earned straight-set wins over VCU's Viktoria Lackova and East Carolina's Xenia Jeromin, while also rallying for a three-set comeback victory against Rhode Island's Kajsa Helgesen. She later added a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory against Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Lee also contributed a 7-7 doubles record during the spring, including a 4-3 mark alongside Guerra. Earlier this season, Lee was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after helping Richmond to a strong finish in conference play.
Webber earned her first career all-conference nod after leading the Spiders with a 12-7 dual singles record during her junior season. Competing primarily at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions, Webber pieced together a five-match winning streak during the middle of the year.
Her run included victories over Cal State Fullerton's Seha Yu, UC Irvine's Haily Huynh and Georgetown's Katie Garofolo-Ro, all in three-set fashion. Webber also added straight-set wins against UNC Greensboro, Campbell, CSUN and East Carolina opponents throughout the season.
During conference play, Webber earned a three-set victory over Rhode Island's Sophie Herrman before closing the regular season with a 6-4, 6-4 win over VCU's Elicia Kim in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Guerra made an immediate impact in her first season with the Spiders, earning all-conference second team recognition following a standout rookie campaign. Competing primarily at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, Guerra posted a 7-10 singles record while finishing undefeated in Atlantic 10 play.
The freshman delivered conference victories against VCU, East Carolina, Rhode Island and Davidson during a five-match winning streak late in the season. At VCU, she rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (9-7), 2-0 victory after trailing by a set.
