Field Hockey Picked to Finish Second; Larripa, Luna Paratore Named to A10 Preseason Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Richmond field hockey program has been selected to finish second in the Atlantic 10 in 2026 by the conference coaches, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. Richmond is also represented by seniors Clara Larripa and Valen Luna Paratore on the 2026 A10 Field Hockey Preseason All-Conference Team.
The Spiders received 42 points, including one first-place vote, trailing only Saint Joseph's 44 points and four first-place votes. VCU collected 37 points (one first place vote) for third while Davidson picked up 30 points (one first place vote) to round out the top four. La Salle (19 points), Saint Louis (15 points) and Lock Haven (nine points) wrapped up the league's fifth, sixth and seventh places.
Richmond, reigning 2025 A10 Regular Season Co-Champions, opens the 2026 schedule Friday at Crenshaw Field, hosting Queens at 5 p.m. NFHCA preseason No. 6 Duke visits Sunday, Aug. 30 at noon. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+ and internationally via Atlantic10.com. All home games at Crenshaw Field are free for fans to attend.
Larripa, picking up her third-straight preseason league honors, capped off 2025 collecting NFHCA All-America Third Team, NFHCA All-South Region First Team, All-A10 Championship Team, All-A10 First Team and A10 All-Academic accolades. Larripa, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, tallied 48 points on a career-high 20 goals and eight assists to lead the Spiders offense last season , including scoring a hat trick in the A10 Semifinals against Davidson to help UR advance to the conference title game.
Luna Paratore, also a native of Buenos Aires, finished the 2025 season with 12 points on five goals and two assists in 13 games and also collected her second-straight A10 First Team accolades. A 2025 preseason All-Conference and NFHCA Division I Watchlist honoree, she put away goals against nationally ranked Liberty and North Carolina. Luna Paratore also scored the double overtime game winning goal against VCU to secure a share of the regular season championship and the top A10 tournament seed.
