Tony Carney is in his third year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Richmond in 2019-20. Carney works with the men’s lacrosse, baseball and soccer programs while assisting with the football team.
Carney came to Richmond after spending one season as a strength and conditioning assistant at N.C. State. He worked with Wolfpack men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, swimming diving, track and field, wrestling, soccer and rifle programs.
Carney also spent two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Ball State, working with swimming and diving and track and field. He earned his Master of Arts in Exercise Science at Ball State in 2016.
Carney was a human performance and exercise science (HPES) student intern at Youngstown state, working with the men’s ice hockey program. He earned his Bachelor of Science in HPES in 2013.
Carney is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association
