Preston Bailey

Preston Bailey begins his first season with Coach Huesman and the Spiders in 2020-21. Bailey serves as the defensive assistant and works with the will linebackers and dime position. He joined the Spider staff after an extensive tenure playing and coaching internationally.
Bailey began his coaching career in Lubeck, Germany as the offensive coordinator for the u19 Lubeck, Cougars in 2015. Bailey lead the air-raid offensive attack to top scoring honors in the league and an undefeated regular season.
Bailey returned to the United States in 2016 and worked at Limestone College (NCAA Division II) in Gaffney, S.C., where he worked as a defensive consultant and primarily with the defensive backs. The Limestone defense forced 15 defensive interceptions in 2016, and starting cornerback Josh Simmons was selected as an All American.
After leaving Limestone in 2016, Bailey traveled to Faro, Portugal where he served as a player and defensive coordinator while leading their defense to a top 4 defensive ranking in the country.
In 2017, Bailey was selected to coach in an international contest in Mexico City, Mexico as the wide receivers’ coach for the u19 Europe Warriors. The contest set players from 11 different European countries up against the u19 Mexican national team.
In 2018, Bailey coached the defensive backs at the National Autonomous University of Mexico Accounting faculty in Mexico City, Mexico. Bailey lead a defensive backs group that was part of the top ranked defense in the league that won a championship capping off a perfect 2018 season.
Bailey began his college football career at The Citadel in Charleston S.C., where he was selected to the Academic All-Conference team. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, he went on to attend Alderson Broaddus University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies. He served as the team captain in 2012 and 2013, and was selected to the Academic All American Second Team in 2013.
After finishing his collegiate career Bailey went on to play in Lubeck, Germany; Central Florida; Faro, Portugal; Mexico City, Mexico; and in Berlin, Germany. His professional career was highlighted by a 2019 All-Pro selection and Mexican Super Bowl Championship.
