Mitch Goldberg

Mitch Goldberg enters his first season as the volunteer assistant coach at the University of Richmond for head coach Dan Chemotti.
Goldberg was a four-year standout for the Spiders and is the only Richmond student-athlete to be part of both NCAA Tournament teams in program history. He was a freshman during the Spiders’ first-ever NCAA Tournament in the first year of the program in 2014 and was a redshirt senior in their second appearance in 2018.
Goldberg finished his Richmond playing career as the all-time leading goal scorer in program history with 96 career goals. He is second all-time in career history with 131 career points, trailing only current Spider Teddy Hatfield.
Goldberg was a four-time All-Conference selection in his career. He was named First Team All-Southern Conference in 2018 and 2015, while earning Second Team All-SoCon in 2016. He was twice named to the SoCon All-Tournament team (2018, 2015) and scored 67 goals as a member of the SoCon. He was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List in 2016 after scoring 29 goals as a sophomore.
Goldberg was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014 when he scored 29 goals and finished with 39 points. He was named the Atlantic Sun Tournament Most Valuable Player when he led the team to the championship and the NCAA Tournament berth. The First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection scored five goals in the Atlantic Sun Tournament, including two in the championship contest.
Goldberg also appeared on the 40-man roster for Team Israel in the 2014 World Championships. He was a student assistant coach in 2017 when he missed the season due to an injury.
Goldberg graduated from the University of Richmond in 2017 with a degree in business administration – entrepreneurship and innovation major. He is working on his Masters Degree in non-profit studies and is expected to graduate in May of 2019.
