Richmond Drops Temple In Overtime, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Richmond Spiders broke a three game losing skid with a 2-1 overtime win over Temple on Sunday in college field hockey action.
With the Owls holding a 1-0 advantage, Richmond would get on the board with 25:36 left in the first stanza when junior Holly Chase (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) scored off the assist from Beth Greer (Tulsa, Okla./Holland Hall).
Scoreless through the second period, the Spiders' Heather Rice (Oklahoma City, Okla/Heritage Hall) would break the tie in the first overtime when she connected on her ninth goal of the year and second in as many games.
Richmond improves to 3-5 on the season. They open up conference play on Wednesday as they play host to American at 3:30 p.m. at Crenshaw Field.
