Richmond Slams East Carolina, 6-1

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. ---Richmond won its first Colonial Athletic Association contest of the year defeating East Carolina, 6-1 in women's college tennis action on Wednesday afternoon at the UR Tennis Complex.
Richmond registered five victories in the singles competition. Jeannette Cluskey (Minneapolis, Minn./Edna) came from a set down to post a 4-6, 6-4 (10-4) victory at No. 1 singles. At two singles, Jodi Kenoyer (Lighthouse Point, Fla/Cardinal Gibbons) defeated Emily Kohl (6-1, 7-5) while at the third spot Vanessa Bagnato (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) recorded a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Lyndall Jordan. The Spiders also garnered wins at the No. 5 and 6 postitions. Monica Peets (Tallinn, Estonia/Tallinn Science School) and Patty Devlin (York, Pa./York Suburban) both posted straight set wins.
Richmond (5-9) won two out of three in doubles play to record the doubles point. Cluskey and Kenoyer won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Bagnato teamed with Peets to win at the two doubles spot.
