American Downs Richmond In Men's Tennis, 5-1

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Richmond fell to American, 5-1, in men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon. The loss was Richmond's second straight.
Richmond dropped five of six singles and no doubles marthes were contested thus resulting in the six-point total scoring system. The Spiders' lone singles victory came at six singeles as Danny Scrafford (Centreville, Va./Centreville) defeated Tushar Garg, 6-4, 6-1. American's Bence Hamori dropped Robert Flader (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) at the top singles spot (6-2, 6-2). Newcomer Niki Doll (Heidelberg, Germany/Heidelberg Gymnasium) fell short against Jason Moon in the two singles, falling 7-6, 7-5 (10-5).
With the loss, the Spiders drop to 11-8 on the season and 1-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Richmond resumes action on Thursday, April 12 hosting George Mason at 2:30 p.m. at the UR Tennis Complex.
