Richmond Field Hockey Falls to #2 North Carolina

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Spiders (5-4) were simply overmatched suffering their worst loss of the season to the second-ranked North Carolina Tarheels (8-2), 8-0 in Sunday afternoon field hockey action. Richmond was held in check throughout, only managing five total shots en route to its third scoreless game of the season and second in three contests.
North Carolina dominated tallying a total of 25 shots and converting on eight. Senior Leslie Ramich (Mountain Lakes, N.J. / Mountain Lakes) led the Spiders with three shots.
Freshman netminder Jennifer Alpert (Rockville, Md./Wootton) set a season high with seven saves in another tough game between the wickets.
Richmond ends its toughest stretch of the season having played four nationally ranked teams in a row, three on the road. The Spiders return home to play five straight games, the first at 3:30p.m. on Wednesday October 3 when they take on the Eagles of American University.
