Field Hockey Records 4-1 Win Over Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC - Sophomore forward Laura Hur (Chevy Chase, Md.) scored two first half goals in the Spiders' decisive 4-1 win Georgetown University this afternoon. Richmond's record improves to 5-6 while the Hoyas fall to 4-5.
Richmond's first goal came at the 17:27 mark when senior Sarah Adams (Tulsa, Okla.) scored her sixth goal of the season off a penalty corner. Senior Jill Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.) and junior Brittney Parrish (Louisville, Ky.) assisted on the goal.
Richmond extended the lead to 2-0 after Hur was able to tap the ball into the empty side of the goal after it was deflected off the post. The goal was the first of Hur's collegiate career. The Spiders ended the first half strongly as Hur scored her second goal with one second remaining on the clock.
The Hoyas were able to get on the board when Jessica Quinn scored thee minutes into the second half. Richmond responded at the 42:32 point when Sandeep Kaur (Salford, England) scored her first goal as a Spider to set the final margin at 4-1.
Richmond will be back in action on October 6 when Appalachian State comes to Crenshaw Field. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
