PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Richmond junior Brittney Parrish (Louisville, Ky.) scored the game winning goal in the Spiders' 2-1 victory over Temple this afternoon at Geasey Field. Richmond improves to 10-6 overall and 4-0 in Atlantic 10 action, while Temple drops to 7-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Richmond opened scoring in the first half with a goal from Sandeep Kaur (Salford, England) at the 18:30 point. Freshman Emma Bradley (Kybybolite, South Australia) assisted on the play.
Owls' Rachel Kasper evened the score late in the second half off a pass from Haley Dervinis.
Parrish's goal at the 46:31 mark set the final margin. She was assisted by junior Jill Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.).
Richmond goalie Michelle Swartz(Severna Park, Md.) recorded four saves on the afternoon and Temple's Erin Conroy had three saves in the contest.
Richmond is back at home on Friday, October 25 as they take on La Salle University. Game time is scheduled for 4:30.
