Women's Tennis Falls at VCU, 6-1

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team fell to cross-town rival VCU Friday afternoon, 6-1. Richmond's lone point on the afternoon came from junior Casey Cohen (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./The Bolles School).
Cohen picked up a win at the No. 4 spot, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 versus Christina Gago. Freshman Lindsay Cox (Finchampstead, Workingham Berks, UK/Edgbarrow) fell in three sets at the No. 3 spot to Barbara Zahnova, while sophomore Patty Devlin (York, Pa./York Suburban), also dropped a tough, three set match, 4-6, 6-4, 9-8 (10-6) to Maria Rocio-Perez at No. 6 singles.
The win improves the 44th-ranked Rams to 4-1 on the season, while the Spiders, listed 75th in the latest ITA Division I rankings, fell to 2-5. Richmond returns to action March 1st as it travels to face East Carolina.
