Lacrosse Bests Northwestern, 13-6

Richmond notched its second win of the season defeating Northwestern, 13-6 on Sunday afternoon. The contest was played on a neutral site at Johns Hopkins University.
The Wildcats scored the first goal of the game (27:48) but the Spiders answered less than 30 seconds later with their first goal. Richmond then proceeded to score the next nine goals of the game. The Spiders erupted for the nine scores over the next 14 minutes of play. Junior Kristy Gallagher (Chatsworth, N.J.) began the attack scoring Richmond's first two goals of the game. The Spiders never trailed from that point on. Spider sophomore Mandy Bourquin (Lutherville, Md.) netted her second goal of the run at the 13:53 mark as the Spiders led by a 9-1 count. Both teams added scored in the final 1:50 of the half as UR led 11-3 at the break. Richmond would net two more in the second holding on for the win.
The Spiders are back in action traveling to intra-state rival Virginia Tech on Friday, March 15.
