Niki Doll Named Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond sophomore Niki Doll (Heidelberg, Germany/Heidelberg Gymnasium) was named the Atlantic 10 men's tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 17. Doll won all three matches he played in as the Spiders went 2-0 this past weekend.
In Friday's victory over Elon, Doll was victorious at the No.3 singles position, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 over Justin Roberson. That same day, he also teamed with freshman Matthew Cabana (Plantation, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, over Malasitt/Dutton. Doll won again at the No. 3 slot Saturday, as he defeated Lee Bailey of UNC-Wilmington, 6-4, 6-3.
The Spiders defeated Elon, 4-3, and UNC-Wilmington, 4-1, to improve their record to 10-6 as the team is on a five-match winning streak. Richmond, 2-0 in Atlantic 10 competition, is back in action Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. as it travels to Norfolk to face Old Dominion.
