UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Richmond continued its stellar play with a 15-6 win at La Salle in an Atlantic 10 Conference match. Senior Carrie Aitken led the visitors with six goals and raised her season total to 44 tallies.
The Spiders (10-5, 5-1 Atlantic 10) took the early lead with three consecutive goals before the Explorers responded with two tallies to close within 3-2 15 minutes into the contest. Aitken then scored her second goal of the game, at 17:21, and started a stretch of 10 straight goals for the visitors.
Richmond led 12-2 at the break. Aitken added two second-half goals en route to the 15-6 victory.
Libby Berlacher tallied three goals and one assist while Polly Purcell notched one goal and three assists to spark the Spider charge. La Salle was led by Kim Emrich's three goals.
Spider goalkeeper Kelly Johnson made seven saves in the win.
