
Women's Tennis Team Awaits NCAA Bid

The University of Richmond women's tennis team, champions of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, now awaits the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field. The Spiders finished their first season as an A-10 member as the number one seed, and went on to beat Fordham, Dayton and Xavier to capture the crown.
The Spiders last won a conference tournament championship in 1985 while a member of the CAA. Their last trip to the NCAA championships was in 1997 and 1998 when head coach Mark Wesselink coached the Spiders to back-to-back appearances.
Now, the Spiders await the unveiling of the NCAA Women's Tournament field. The pairings will be announced Thursday May 2nd at 7pm EDT.

The Richmond Men's Tennis Team also won the Atlantic 10 Tournament and is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever. The men's field will be announced Thursday May 2nd at 6:30pm EDT.
