Field Hockey Dominates Davidson, 3-0

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Emma Bradley (Kybybolite, South Australia) scored two goals to lead the Spiders to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Wildcats from Davidson. Richmond's record improves to 3-4, while Davidson falls to 4-2.
Bradley scored her first career goal in the first half at the 30:47 mark off a penalty corner. Senior Jill Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.) and junior Lydia Decembrino (Hummelstown, Pa.) assisted in the goal. Three minutes later, Bradley connected again off a penalty corner and increased the Spiders' lead to 2-0. Murphy and Decembrino paired to record their second assists.
In the second half, freshman Whitney Wells (Clayton, Del.) made it 3-0 when she put the ball in the goal at the 46:58 point.
Richmond offensively dominated throughout the game, taking 15 shots, while limiting the Wildcats offense to one shot.
Spider goalie Michelle Swartz (Severna Park, Md.) recorded her second shutout of the season with the victory. Davidson goalkeeper Sarah Nolan stopped eight shots on the afternoon.
The Spiders travel to Durham, N.C. to take on the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday, September 22. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
