Field Hockey Defeated by Delaware In Overtime, 2-1

Newark, Del. - Junior Lydia Decembrino (Hummelstown, Pa.) scored Richmond's lone goal in the 2-1 overtime loss to Delaware in the final game of the Blue Hen Classic.
After a scoreless first half, Delaware scored at the 18:25 mark to give the Blue Hens a 1-0 led. Decembrino tied the game at 1-1 off a penalty corner after regulation time had expired and forced overtime.
Delaware's Erica LaBar scored off a penalty corner at the 6:08 point in the first overtime to lead the Blue Hens to victory.
Richmond goalkeeper Michelle Swartz (Severna Park, Md.) stopped four shots for the Spiders and the Blue Hens had three saves from goalkeepers Stephanie Judefind and Heidi Hibschman.
The loss puts Richmond's record at 1-2, while the Blue Hens improve to 3-1.
Richmond returns home to Crenshaw Field to take on New Hampshire on Friday, September 13 at 3 pm.
