Women's Tennis Tops Brown, 4-3

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team recorded a 4-3 win over Brown University at the UR Tennis Complex this afternoon. The Spiders improve to 4-2 on the season.
Richmond opened the afternoon taking all three doubles matches and earning the point. The Spiders won three of six singles matches to earn the victory. Vanessa Bagnato (Manhasset, N.Y.) defeated Yelena Klurfeld in straight sets at the Number 2 position and in the Number 5 spot, Monika Peets (Tallinn, Estonia) took a 6-2, 6-2 win over Stephanie Falconi. After a 7-6 victory in her first match, freshman Meghan Wolfgram (Granite Bay, Calif.) took a 4-6 loss in the second contest but came back in the third set to record a 6-4 win and earn the point in the Number 1 position.
The Spiders return to the courts on Wednesday, March 12 when they host University of Virginia at 2:00 p.m.
