Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship Opens TODAY

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team begins play in the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championship this afternooon at the Tennis Center in College Park, Md. at 3:30 p.m. The Spiders, the #3 seed, will face the winner of the #11 Saint Joseph's/#6 Fordham match, held at 11:00 a.m.
The Spiders won the 2002 Atlantic 10 Championship after defeating Xavier 4-0 in the finals.
Play starts on Thursday, April 17 at 8:00 a.m., while the final match of the day will begin at 3:30 p.m. On Friday, April 18, play also begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends with a 3:30 p.m. contest. The fifth- and seventh-place matches of the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship will commence on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 a.m. The championship and third-place matches will follow at 11:00 a.m.
