Women's Tennis Receives Atlantic 10 Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Vanessa Bagnato (Manhasset, N.Y.) and freshman Meghan Wolfgram (Granite Bay, Calif.) were named to the 2003 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis All-Conference Team as announced today by the league.
A member of the 2002 All-Conference Team, Bagnato recorded seven wins at the top three positions for the Spiders in spring dual matches. She posted a 3-2 mark at the #3 spot while winning four matches at the #2 slot. Bagnato teamed with fellow senior Monika Peets (Tallin, Estonia) to post a 5-3 mark in doubles action, going 2-0 at the #2 position.
Wolfgram, who joined the squad in January, also played at the top three slots for the Spiders. She recorded three wins at the #1 position and was 3-1 at the #3 singles spot. Wolfgram paired with fellow freshman Katie Karhohs (East Grand Rapids, Mich.) for #2 doubles where the duo posted a 5-2 mark.
Voting for the All-Conference Team was conducted among the conference's head coaches following the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Spiders finished third in the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championships, defeating Xavier 4-1 in the consolation match.
