Baseball and Track and Field Earn A-10 Accolades

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Tim Caramore and freshmen Rusty Burrell and Beth Crocus of the men's and women's track and field teams and Matt McKenna of the baseball squad were all named to the conference weekly honor roll, as announced by the Atlantic 10 today.
Caramore (East Greenbush, N.Y.) earned Performer of the Week as a result of his first-place finish at the VCU Ram Invitational in the 5,000m after stopping the clock at 14:48.92.
In his first collegiate outdoor track & field meet, Burrell (Lawton, OK) finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 5-10.75 at VCU and posted a time of 52.35 in the 400m dash en route to becoming Rookie of the Week.
Rookie of the Week, Crocus (Bethlehem, PA) set a school record in the javelin with a mark of 141-6 at the VCU Ram Invitational, which eclipsed the previous UR record of 135-6 set by Sarah Mergenthaler in 2001. She qualified for the ECAC Championships in the javelin and placed fifth in the hammer (143-2).
McKenna (Richmond, Va.) garnered Rookie of the Week prestige for his 4-for-7 (.571) with three RBI performance in Richmond's two-game series versus Penn State. He hit his first collegiate homer on Mar. 21 and added a double in the Spiders' 5-4 loss to Penn State and added a stolen base and a run scored. He is batting .313 on the year with six runs scored.
