
Women's Tennis Earns Atlantic 10 Honors

UNIVERISTY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Beatrice Grasu of the University of Richmond women's tennis team was named Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer and head coach Lindsay Cox and sophomore Meghan Wolfgram were also named to the All-Conference Team.
Wesselink was named the Coach of the Year after guiding Richmond (14-8) to the A-10 crown and earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The top-seeded Spiders breezed to the title after defeating #8 Fordham (4-0), #4 Temple (4-1) and #2 Xavier (4-0). This is Wesselink's second A-10 Coach of the Year award, he previously earned the honor in 2002.
Grasu (Reisterstown, Md.) claimed the award after helping the Spiders claim their second title in three years. Grasu competed at the number one position this spring and posted a 12-4 doubles record and a 6-12 singles record.
Cox (Finchampstead, UK), Grasu and Wolfgram (Granite Bay, Calif.) were three of 12 student-athletes selected to the All-Conference team. Cox and Wolfgram alternated at the number two and three singles position this spring, with Cox registering an 11-9 singles record and Wolfgram an 11-10 singles record.
