Men's Tennis Advances To Atlantic 10 Championship

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The top-seeded Richmond men's tennis team defeated No. 4 seed St. Bonaventure 4-1 in the 2004 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship semifinals at the Oxford Athletic Club this afternoon. With the victory, Richmond advances to the championship match for the third consecutive season and will face No. 2 seed George Washington at 11 a.m. on Saturday for a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
In a rematch of the 2003 A-10 final, the Spiders captured the doubles point, wining at No. 2 and No. 3, as well as No. 4-6 singles. David Donn and Jeppy Moss improved to 12-7 on the season in doubles, winning 8-6 at No. 2.
In singles action, Eric Hage improved to 7-0 at No. 6 with a straight-set victory. Moss (No. 4) and Matt Stillwagon (No. 5) also won in straight sets.
The Spiders will look to claim their second A-10 title in three years (also 2002) tomorrow afternoon.
