Women's Tennis Receives Regional Award

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond women's tennis player Beatrice Grasu (Reisterstown, Md.) was selected as the 2004 East Regional Rookie of the Year by the ITA. Grasu is the first Richmond player to win this award.
The Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer played #1 singles for the Spiders in both the spring and the fall. She paired with junior Lindsay Cox for doubles and the pair posted a 12-5 record at the top spot.
The Spiders captured the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship and made their fourth NCAA appearance in the past seven years.
