Kristin Price, the 2002 NCAA 10,000-meter champion while at North Carolina State, is joining the University of Richmond staff as an assistant to cross country and track coaches Steve and Lori Taylor. The Taylors had coached Price at Virginia Tech in 2001; when they left that school, she transferred to North Carolina State. Price was third in the 10,000 at NCAAs in 2003 and third in the 5000 in 2002. In cross country, she helped lead NC State to two Atlantic Coast Conference crowns and a second place team finish at the 2001 NCAA Championships. Price has run 32:50 for 10,000 meters and 15:35 in the 5000. She was sixth in the 5000 at the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships and 13th at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 10,000. She and her twin sister Kara ran and played soccer at Penn Trafford High School in Pittsburgh. Price plans to run the Great Cow Harbor 10K on Long Island September 18 and the Beckley Half-Marathon in West Virginia October 2.
