Men's Basketball Falls To Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The University of Richmond men's basketball team lost to Saint Joseph's 70-39 Saturday afternoon in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Spiders led 13-7 with 11:44 remaining in the half, but the Hawks used an 8-1 run to take the lead and never looked back in sending Richmond to its eighth-straight loss.
Richmond entered the month of February with an 11-8 record and 4-2 mark in the Atlantic 10, but the Spiders did not win a game in the month. Richmond played six of its eight games in February on the road with Saturday being the Spiders' last away game of the season. The Spiders finished 1-10 on the road this year.
Senior Jermaine Bucknor led the Spiders with 14 points, while fellow senior Kevin Steenberge also reached double figures with 11 points. Sophomore Oumar Sylla scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting.
Chet Stachitas and Dwayne Lee scored 11 points apiece to lead Saint Joseph's (13-12, 7-7 Atlantic 10).
Richmond returns home to play its final two regular season games in the Robins Center. The Spiders host Massachusetts on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and then host St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 7 p.m.
