Men's Tennis Tops Howard, 5-2

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team topped the Howard Bison, 5-2, on Friday afternoon on the University of Richmond campus. The Spiders clinched the doubles point and moved on to win four singles matches over the Bison, as they improved to 8-10.
Bobby McNally earned a hard-fought win at No. 2 over Howard's Faron Karter, while teammate Brett Waikart breezed by Anthony Baldwin, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 singles. Sami Belakhlef and Chris Louis snagged wins at No. 4 and 5 singles to secure a 4-2 advantage in singles action for the Spiders. While Doug Banker fought hard at No. 1, as well as Matt Stillwagon at No. 3, they were unable to come up with singles victories for the Spiders.
The Spiders will return to action tomorrow with a home match with UNC Greensboro at 2:00 p.m.
