
Duran Earns A-10 Women's Tennis Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond's Pamela Duran earned Atlantic 10 women's tennis honors following an extremely solid performance in the Spiders' lone match this past week. Duran, a freshman from Guayaquil, Ecuador, was named the Rookie of the Week after going 1-0 in both singles and doubles action in the Spiders' 6-1 victory over Massachusetts on Friday.
Duran paired up with Ashlee Vosters for an 8-1 win at third doubles over Massachusetts' Bartoloni/Johnson due as she improved to 10-4 in doubles play for the season. She then went on to take a 6-3, 6-3 victory at second singles over the Minutewomen's Masha Pozar to improve to 6-7 in singles action.
Duran joined the Spiders from Colegio Aleman Humboldt of Guayaquil where she ranked 177th in junior rankings. She played in tournaments in Costa Rica, Bermuda, Bahamas, Aruba, and St. Maarten, winning four of the five tournaments in singles action and advanced to the finals for doubles in three of the tournaments.
