
Duran Named A-10 Women's Tennis Player Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond sophomore tennis player Pamela Duran (Guayaquil, Ecuador) earned her second Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor after posting a 2-0 record at first singles and a 2-0 record at second doubles to help Richmond to a pair of wins this past week.
"Pamela has been playing really well lately and pulling out some great wins over some tough opponents," stated Richmond head coach Mark Wesselink.
#68 Duran took a 6-1, 6-0, win at first singles and breezed by with an 8-0 victory at second doubles in Richmond's 5-2 win versus East Carolina on Mar. 27. Four days later in a 5-2 win against UMass, she took an 8-3 doubles victory, as well as a win over Michele Spiess in singles play, 6-4, 6-7, 10-3, her fourth-straight singles win.
She and teammate Ashlee Vosters have won 10 straight doubles matches to improve to 11-2 on the year, while also owning a 9-4 singles mark this season.
Duran and the Spiders return to action on April 12 at 2:30 p.m. with Longwood in Richmond, Va.
