"I'm impressed with Pamela's performance," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "We haven't had someone go as far as she has in regional championships in a long time. Hopefully she can continue her momentum into the next couple of rounds."
Tidwell defeated Stevi Petrelli of Yale 6-3, 7-6 (5), in the first round of play of the singles qualifiying bracket. Tidwell then went onto to defeat Dina Senkina of Temple 6-1, 7-6 (3), to advance to the single main draw bracket.
