Women's Tennis Earned A Win At Home Over The Weekend

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Women's Tennis hosted Brown University over the weekend and earned the win, 5-2. Ashlee Vosters and Erin Clark both went undefeated in both individual and doubles play in Richmond's victory over Brown. Pamela Duran and Vosters won in doubles competition while Clark and her partner, Xenia Schneider also earned a win to help the Spiders to their second win of the season.
"It is exciting to see how much better this team gets with each match," head coach Ashlee Vosters looked especially strong and showed she can handle the challenge of the No. 2 position."
Along with Clark and Vosters, freshmen Kelly Tidwell and Isabel Arana both earned singles victories against Brown.
"Our intensity and aggressive play was much improved over the last match," coach Wesselink said. "We're learning from every match and that showed most in our tenacious doubles play against Brown."
Richmond women's tennis also faced off against Temple over the weekend where the Spiders fell in a close match, 4-3. Ashlee Vosters took the lone Richmond doubles win over Temple's Pazderova and Stangl.
In singles play, Clark, Tidwell and Arana all earned wins for the Spiders but it was not enough to get the overall win over Atlantic 10 opponent Temple.
"Our match against Temple was disappointing," Wesselink commented. "But it gives us ammunition for when we see them again in at the A-10 tournament."
