
Richmond Rolls By Rhodey, Faces Temple In Semi-Final

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Five-time defending champions, Richmond, swept Rhode Island in the quarterfinals at the Atlantic 10 Championships, 4-0, to move on to face No. 2 Temple in the semi-finals. Third-seed Richmond has taken the crown the past four years and again in 2002.
The Spiders won every match they were able to finish in Pittsburgh, Pa. against the Rams. Pamela Duran and Ashlee Vosters teamed up in the no. 1 spot for the Spiders to take down Nyssa Peele and Christen Cadigan, 8-1. Erin Clark and Xenia Schneider also dominated for a 8-1 decision in the no. 2 position.
In singles play, Duran, Vosters and Kelly Tidwell all walked away with wins to help down Rhode Island, 4-0.
The Spiders move on to face off against no. 2 Temple Saturday, April 19 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Top-seeded UMass will take on Xavier in the other semi-final on Saturday.
