Four Spider Tennis Standouts Garner A-10 Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond tennis team has four players garner Atlantic 10 All-Conference Honors for the 2008 season. Pamela Duran and Erin Clark were named to the first team while Ashlee Vosters and Kelly Tidwell made second team, voted on by all A-10 coaches. The Spiders finished third at the A-10 Championships this season.
Junior Pamela Duran played the majority of Richmond's matches this season in the no. 1 position for head coach Ashlee Vosters had a great season going 15-11 as a pair. This is the third straight year Duran has earned post-season honors handed out by the conference.
Joining Duran on the first team is sophomore transfer Erin Clark. After playing her first collegiate season at Indiana University, Clark joined Wesselink and the Spiders in the 2007-08 school year. Starting out playing at the no. 3 position, Clark finished 2008 heading the no. 2 spot for the Spiders going 8-6 in singles play on the season.
Ashlee Vosters was named to the 2008 second team for the second straight year. In singles play the junior earned 12 wins, the second most on this year's squad and finished 15-11 with Duran in doubles action.
Freshman Kelly Tidwell was also named to this year's second team. The native of Marieetta, Ga. has a standout season in her first year as a Spider. The rookie finished the season 15-11, earning the most wins in singles play on the Richmond roster.
