Swimming Seventh After Day One Of Terrapin Cup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Richmond women's swimming team kicked off the three-day Terrapin Cup Thursday night against a stacked field at the Eppley Natatorium on the University of Maryland campus.
Senior Katie Sieben placed fourth in the 50 free and swam on the both the third-place 400 medley relay and fourth-place 200 free relay to aid the Spiders cause.
Sieben was clocked at 23.45 in the 50 free, followed by sophomore Charlotte Brackett in 13th (24.08) and freshman Lauren Hines in 17th (24.23).
Hines joined Sieben, Mary Anne Lerro that grabbed the bronze in 3:48.77.
The host Terps are 85 points clear of second-place UConn after the meet's first day. Richmond stands seventh with 89 points. Action resumes at 10 a.m. Friday with preliminary action.
