UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The women's tennis team (7-2) dominated George Washington, 7-0 this past weekend at Montaclair Country Club. The Spiders return to action next Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Richmond breezed through the doubles matches with No. 1 Pamela Duran/Erin Clark defeating Nadia Demidenko/Jacqui Corba, 8-3. No. 2 Ashlee Vosters/Kelly Tidwell dominated Meg Tyner/Jennifer Hirsch, 8-1, while No. 3 Xenia Schneider/Catherine Crystal def. Zoe Krohn/Verena Knoedler, 8-3.
Singles action was no different, as every Spider easily won their match. Next week, Richmond will travel to Florida for three matches.
"I thought the team did a good job of maintaining a high level of play throughout their matches," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "I was pleased with their concentration and aggressive play. Our #2 doubles team of Vosters and Tidwell were especially impressive. They played with a lot of fire today."
