The women's tennis team (12-3) cruised past ECU 6-1 Wednesday afternoon in Richmond. The Spiders face ODU today at 2:00 p.m.
In doubles action, the Spiders swept every match with No. 1 Erin Clark/ Ashlee Vosters def. Jessica Cook/Natalie Collins, 8-2 while No. 2 Pamela Duran/Isabel Arana handled Brooke Walter/Rocio Cabanillas, 8-2. No. 3 Kelly Tidwell/Helen Cunningham def. Tamara Sachs/Kristin Gordon, 8-4.
In singles action, the Spiders dominated the Pirates, sweeping nearly every match.
"I thought we played assertively today. It was good to see the team step up and dictate points," said head coach Mark Wesselink.
