Men's Tennis Readies For A-10 Tournament

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The men's tennis team will face Duquesne in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Monroeville, Pa. Richmond enters the tournament having won two of its past three matches.
Richmond is coming off wins at Winston-Salem State, North Carolina Central and Howard University. The Spiders have yet to win against an Atlantic 10 opponent this season, as they took both Temple and Saint Joseph's wire-to-wire with 4-3 losses in both matches, respectively.
The Spiders are anchored by senior Sami Belakhlef, who plays the at the No. 1 spot in singles. Belakhlef is coming off an impressive 6-4, 2-0 (Ret.) win over Howard University's Chris Brown. Belakhlef also dominated Winston-Salem State's Brian Coxton 6-2, 6-2.
"Sami Belakhlef leads the way for us," said assistant coach Billy Boykin. "We'll really be looking for him to step up as we enter the Atlantic 10 Tournament."
Should the Spiders advance, they will face the second-seeded Xavier Musketeers Friday at 5 p.m.
