Spiders Edged In Double Overtime By Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.-Richmond overcame a halftime deficit, led by six with under a minute to play, overcame a four-point deficit in the first overtime, but ultimately lost to Iona 81-77 in double-overtime Thursday.
Kevin Anderson led the Spiders in scoring with 24 points, and also had six assists. Justin Harper added 18 points and six rebounds. Dan Geriot also had double figures in points by finishing with 14.
Richmond shot 43 percent from three point land and outscored the Iona bench 13-0, but the Gaels made two three-pointers in the final 31 seconds to force overtime. The Spiders overcame a four point deficit in the first overtime to force a second overtime, but ultimately the Spiders fell short in the second overtime, when they were outscored 8-4.
Richmond returns to action on Sunday at the Robins Center when they take on Charleston Southern.
