Sophomore C Chris Cowell is swinging the Spiders' hottest bat with a .615 average (8-of-13) over Richmond's last five games with three homers and seven RBI. He carries a team-best seven-game hitting streak into the Columbia series.

Third-year head coach Mark McQueen needs one more victory to earn the 50th of his career.
