Richmond has played Charlotte twice in all six seasons that the 49ers have been in the Atlantic 10, with the Spiders having won five of the last six meetings between the two schools.

Richmond and Saint Joseph's will play two scheduled regular season games for the first time in 2010-11.
The Conference also announced that the format for the 2011 Men's Baksetball Championship (March 8-13) will remain the same as this past year. The top 12 teams at the conclusion of the regular season will advance to the 2011 Championship, with the top four seeds earning byes. First round contests will be played on the campuses of teams seeded fifth-thru-eighth.
The setting for the Championship then shifts to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. with the championship game airing live on CBS.
Last season the Spiders finished third in the Atlantic 10 standings, just a 78-76 double-overtime loss at Xavier from winning the conference regular-season title. Richmond reached the Atlantic 10 Championship game, televised nationally on CBS.
The Spiders (26-9, 13-3 Atlantic 10) received an at-large bid as a No. 7 in the NCAA Tournament and finished the year ranked No. 24 in the Associated Top-25 Poll. Richmond returns 14 of the 16 players on its 2009-10 roster, including Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and honorable mention All-American point guard Kevin Anderson.
