Women's Basketball Finalizes 2010-11 Roster

Head coach Michael Shafer announced the finalized 2010-11 women's basketball roster Friday.
Fifth-year seniors Katie Holzer and Kristen Phillips will forego their last year of eligibility and graduate from the University of Richmond this May. Both Holzer and Phillips battled injuries throughout their careers at Richmond.
Holzer redshirted the 2008-09 season due to a knee injury, but returned last season to average 5.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 19.6 minutes a game. Holzer scored a season-best 10 points twice and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds against Hofstra.
Redshirt junior Rebecca Kretchman, who has also battled injuries throughout her career as a Spider, will remain on the team in an undergraduate assistant role.
Neither Phillips or Kretchman played last year for the Spiders.
In addition, rising junior Joyous Tharrington has decided to transfer. Tharrington averaged 4.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 20.9 minutes a game.
The Spiders will welcome seven newcomers to next year's squad.
