RICHMOND, Va. — The University of Richmond women's basketball team has signed Harriet Ford, a 6-foot-3 post from Perth, Australia, Head Coach Alisa Kresge announced on Monday. Ford will join the Spiders for the 2026-27 season and becomes Richmond's first international player since the 2023-24 campaign. She joins Emma Schoen and Alexandra Vandiver as the third signee under Kresge.
Ford arrives in Richmond with Atlantic 10 experience after playing the 2025-26 season at Duquesne, where she established herself as one of the league's top rebounders. A physical presence in the paint, she led the Dukes and ranked sixth in the conference with 6.9 rebounds per game while averaging 6.6 points and shooting 46.2 percent from the field. She also paced the team with 2.9 offensive rebounds per game and recorded a team-best five double-doubles.
"We are thrilled to add Harriet to the Web," Kresge said. "She brings A-10 experience and an inside presence. Her ability to rebound and bring physicality to our frontcourt will give us toughness in the paint and a consistent presence around the rim."
Ford appeared in 28 games with three starts as a sophomore and led Duquesne in rebounding 14 times, including nine games with double-digit boards. She posted 10 double-figure scoring performances and matched her season high with 15 points twice, while pulling down a season-best 15 rebounds at Dayton.
Prior to her time at Duquesne, Ford began her collegiate career at Omaha during the 2024-25 season. As a freshman, she appeared in 25 games with four starts and averaged 7.9 points and 7.8 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game. She ranked fourth in the Summit League in rebounds per game and totaled 195 boards, which led the team and ranked among the league leaders. Ford recorded four double-doubles, seven double-digit scoring performances and a season-high 20 points in a win over College of Saint Mary.
Before arriving in the United States, Ford competed in Australia with the Cockburn Cougars in the NBL1, joining the club as a 16-year-old and playing three seasons. She was part of the Cougars' 2023 championship team and developed into one of the league's most consistent rebounders, averaging 5.8 boards a game off the bench in the season's final nine games. Ford also represented Basketball Western Australia at the U20 level in 2023 and 2024.
