
Spiders Stopped By No. 5 Princeton

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - With only one day to prepare, the Spiders fell to the No. 5 Princeton Tigers 7-1 on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers were guided by a six goal performance by Junior forward Kathleen Sharkey.
Princeton struck first, scoring on a goal from Sharkey at the 6:32 mark. The goal came on an assist from Senior back Alexandra Douwes. Princeton would go on to score another four goals in the first half, three of which were powered home by Sharkey.
Richmond got on the board early in the second half, when Chelsea Davis found Christin Hanley for a goal at the 49:58 mark. The goal was Hanley's first of the season.
Princeton quickly answered Hanley's goal with a goal of its own less than one minute later.
Richmond take the field again next Friday in Harrisonburg against James Madison.
