Men's Tennis Continues Fall Action At ECU Tournament

The Richmond men's tennis team continued fall play at the East Carolina Invitational over the weekend. No. 1 player Sebastien Fauchet recorded a win in singles and doubles over JMU.
"It was a tough weekend of competition and I give a lot of credit to the teams we faced," said head coach Ben Johson. "We played a lot of sets and made improvements from the previous two tournaments. We are excited to see the hard work is paying off. We have three weeks to get ready for Regionals in Charlottesville, VA."
Fauchet defeated JMU's Greg Vladimirsky in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 in singles play. Fauchet recorded another victory over Vladimirsky and his partner, Bertrand Moulin this time with help from sidekick Ethan Dunbar, by an 8-6 count. Dunbar also recorded a win over JMU's Florent Senenac, 6-1, 6-4.
In the last day of competition, Richmond's A.J. Nelson/Jesse Feder downed College of Charleston's John Harden and Stephen Hardy, 8-2. Feder also picked up a win in singles action with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Michael Boyer. Justin Baker rounded out the Spider vitories with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 win over Bryan Roberts.
Richmond will play in fall regionals in Charlottesville, Va. Oct. 20-24.
