Anthony Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Kendall Anthony was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after scoring 20 points in his collegiate debut.
Anthony made 4-of-9 field goals, including a three-pointer and connected on 11-of-12 free throws as he led the Spiders in scoring in a 66-56 win over American.
Anthony became the first Spider to score 20 or more points in their collegiate debut since John Telepo scored 21 in a loss at Virginia on Dec. 4, 1961.
The Jackson, Tenn. native was runner-up for Mr. Basketball in the state of Tennessee last year after averaging 29.0 points per game as a senior and leading his team to the State Championship.
Richmond (1-0) plays at Davidson tonight at 8:15 p.m.
