No. 22 Ranked Field Hockey Blanks Villanova, 3-0

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Three different Spiders scored as No. 22 ranked Richmond defeated Villanova 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Crenshaw Field.
All three Spiders from the Emerald Isle factored in Richmond's first two goals.
In the first half, Limerick, Ireland native Rebecca Barry scored her fifth goal of the season the 15th of her career on an assist from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland native Amy Cooke. Dromore, Northern Ireland native Kerri McDonald put the Spiders up 2-0 in the 45th minute when she took a restart, carried the ball into the circle and fired a shot past the keeper for her fifth goal of the season.
Richmond junior Christina Amorose scored for the second-straight game in the 53rd minute. It was Amorose's fifth goal of the season and the 15th of her career.
Spider goalkeeper Anna Zarkoski made three saves as she posted her 11th-career shutout, including the second in as many days. The Spiders outshot Villanova (6-8) 11-3.
The Spiders (8-4, 1-0 Atlantic 10) return to action Friday playing at VCU on Friday at 5 p.m. at Cary Street Field.
