Swimming Ready To Compete in Patriot Invitational

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND- The Spider swimming & diving team continues its 2012-13 campaign this weekend at the Patriot Invitational at George Mason University at the Jim McKay Natatorium. The meet is a three-day championship style meet featuring ten teams.
"This meet gives a lot of girls the opportunity to swim different events including the events they may swim A-10s," said head coach Matt Barany
Richmond is coming off a non-conference dual meet win to William & Mary (141-116). Lauren Hines, Mali Kobelja, Jessie Krebs, and Kelley Yang each won two events a helping elevate the Spider's over William & Mary. The Spider freshman, also, produced strong finishes against the Tribe with Natalya Ares winning the 200-yard freestyle, and Melissa Ross taking second place in the 200-yard butterfly.
Nine other squads join the Spiders at this weekend's Patriot Invitational, including A-10 competitor George Washington. In addition to host George Mason squads from American, Howard, Ohio, Seton Hall, Shippensburg, UMBC, and UNCW will be competing.
"I am going into this meet with an open mind," said captain Jessie Krebs. " We didn't rest for this meet."
Preliminary heats will begin at 10 a.m. and finals will start a 6 p.m. November 15-17.
